Welcome to the 2017/2018 CSCMP Baltimore Roundtable

Dear Fellow Supply Chain Professional:

As we wrap up the summer and move into the second half of 2017, it is time to start looking towards cooler weather, football season and of course the start of the CSCMP year.  For over 45 years, the CSCMP Baltimore Roundtable has been providing networking and education opportunities in Supply Chain & Logistics.

The dedicated Board members of the Baltimore Roundtable have spent the summer putting together what we believe to be a great program for this year.  Our meeting lineup for the year will showcase some of our local assets, provide continuing education opportunities, and stay on top of trends in the industry.

Last week for our first event of the year, we hosted a great networking Happy Hour on the Harbor.  We are following that up with a first-time event for the Baltimore Roundtable; a tour of M&T Bank Stadium on September 12th.  As we get further into the fall we will take a closer look at Foreign Trade Zones and we will host a global career panel focusing on retaining and training talent.  Other meetings on tap for this year are a tour of Sagamore Spirits and a disaster recovery simulation held in conjunction with ALAN.

On the national level, don’t forget to check out CSCMP EDGE 2017 being held September 24-27 in Atlanta, Georgia.  For those who don’t know, the Baltimore Roundtable will sponsor two students at the EDGE Conference this year.  If you are attending, please be sure to introduce yourself to Will Chatard (Towson University) and Christy Powell (University of Maryland, College Park).

Now is also a great time to consider renewing or beginning a CSCMP Membership.  The benefits that you receive from membership are too numerous to mention in full.  You will gain industry insight from the periodicals, white papers, SCPro Certification and networking opportunities with the local roundtable.  As a member, you will receive discounted member rates at the local roundtable meetings as well as the CSCMP EDGE conference.  Membership has wide reaching benefits that you can take advantage of at any stage in your career.  More details about membership can be found at www.cscmp.org or feel free to contact the Baltimore Roundtable at the next meeting you attend or via email at BaltimoreCSCMP@gmail.com.

We are looking forward to another great year here in Baltimore.  Please look for our updates and meeting invitation via email and LinkedIn.  Feel free to reach out to myself or any of our Board members at any point during the year with any questions, comments or suggestions.
