Welcome to the 2011/2012 CSCMP Baltimore Roundtable

2010/2011 was a very exciting year for the Roundtable for a number of reasons. The Roundtable officers are dedicated supply chain professionals from all areas of the industry, representing Baltimore manufacturers and shippers, the Maryland Port Administration, supply chain educators, multi-modal transportation providers and local warehousing companies to name a few. These individuals dedicate their time coordinating current and relevant supply chain industry events including educational sessions and tours of local companies.

This coming year our Roundtable will focus on three main objectives:

  • Gaining more visibility in the local supply chain community
  • Expanding awareness and participation
  • Engaging young supply chain professionals in the organization

We are well on the way to meeting our objectives with the help of our officers and you.

Three of our members, one of them a recent supply chain college graduate, took on the challenge and designed this very website! We hope that this site will allow you to learn more about our organization, view our program offerings and act as an important learning resource tool. Special thanks to Brian Hatfield, KPPS, Inc., Jocelyn Jones, Federal Highway Administration and Mike Pollhammer, McCormick & Co., Inc. for making this happen.

The biggest program highlight of the year was a record meeting attendance of close to one hundred participants! The event required more than the usual amount of coordination and it was a success. The topic of the presentation was CSA2010. The speaker, Anne S. Ferro, Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) provided an overview of the upcoming Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA) 2010 FMCSA initiative. Another well attended event was the tour of the McCormick Distribution Center in Belcamp, MD where each participant left with a bag of spices.

Our Roundtable will continue to support Maryland Supply Chain college students by sponsoring participation in the CSCMP Annual Global Conference and will continue to explore ways in which we can deliver a quality program aimed at enhancing your industry knowledge and presenting networking opportunities. We welcome your suggestions, support and participation.

I look forward to meeting you at some of our future meetings.
